Description
The HOPE RX40 700C PRO 5 Straight-Pull 12x110 mm Boost front wheel pairs the RX40 carbon rim with a Pro 5 Centerlock straight-pull hub. The complete wheel is designed and assembled by Hope in Barnoldswick, England. Built for fast gravel riding and mixed road-and-trail outings, its 40 mm profile provides a genuine aerodynamic benefit while remaining manageable in crosswinds, where deeper rims can become a handful on exposed sections.
The hookless rim measures 25.5 mm internally and 30 mm externally, making it well suited to today’s 32–60 mm gravel tyres set up tubeless. It comes pre-taped, with a Hope Presta valve matching the hub colour. The 24 Sapim CX-Ray bladed spokes provide the lateral stiffness needed when accelerating without adding unnecessary weight: the claimed front-wheel weight is 685 g.
This version is intended for forks with wider Boost spacing, rather than the usual road standard, and is common on gravel bikes with generous tyre clearance. The Pro 5 hub uses Hope’s own pawl mechanism, with a 54-tooth ratchet ring and six offset pawls providing 108 engagement points, or 3.33° between engagements. The bearings can be replaced, and most wear parts remain available individually.
Wheel sold individually, with a Centerlock disc mount.
