Description
The PARK TOOL 2197 Diamond Abrasive for Carbon is an accessory for the DT-5 and DT-5.2 disc brake mount facing kits, making it easier and more effective to face brake mounts on carbon fibre frames.
Its brazed diamond abrasive surface is more than 100 times more durable and effective on carbon than the standard cutter supplied with the DT-5.2. The 2197 fits between the DT-5.2 cutter and the brake mount, gently and evenly abrading the mounting surface until it is perfectly flat and perpendicular to the disc.
Compatible with Post Mount and Flat Mount fittings.
⚠️ Intended exclusively for facing carbon. Aluminium, steel or titanium mounts should be faced with the standard #2171 cutter supplied with the DT-5.2. Use the 2197 for carbon frames with aluminium inserts (hybrid mounting surfaces). Apply water (or a similar solution) regularly to the cutting surface when machining carbon.
