Description
The PARK TOOL BTS-1 BSA Bottom Bracket Tap is a precision tool system designed to ensure proper alignment and facing of threaded bottom bracket shells.
Its precision-machined, two-piece tap handle passes through the bottom bracket shell, ensuring that both sides align with each other and with the shell itself. The included English-thread (BSA) taps allow the shell threads to be checked and their alignment accurately restored.
Once tapping is complete, the taps act as guides to keep the included facer perfectly perpendicular to the bottom bracket axis, ensuring thorough cleaning and levelling of the shell faces.
The kit includes a 1.370" x 24 TPI right-hand tap (English non-drive side, ref. 691), a 1.370" x 24 TPI left-hand tap (English drive side, ref. 692), and a 45 mm facer (ref. 690).
Also available separately: Italian taps (36 mm x 24 TPI), T47 taps (M47 x 1.0), and an oversized 57 mm facer.
⚠️ Always use a cutting fluid, such as Park Tool CF-2, when machining.
