Description
The RRP RearGuard Off-Road is a removable mudguard designed to fit directly beneath your saddle rails. Unlike slimmer road models, the Off-Road version is wider and more robust, specifically designed to stop mud and water thrown up by mountain bike, gravel or cyclo-cross tyres.
It’s an essential accessory for wet rides when you want to stay dry without spoiling your bike’s looks. Installation is instant and requires no tools: it slides between the saddle rails and locks in place thanks to its clever design. Once your ride is over and the sun comes out, it comes off in a flash and packs flat in a bag.
Is it compatible with a saddle bag? Generally, no. Because it occupies the space between the saddle rails, fitting a bag above it is difficult. It’s ideal if you ride with a backpack, a waist pack or tools mounted on the frame.
What’s the difference from the "Road" version? The Off-Road version is considerably wider. A mountain bike or gravel tyre throws up far more water and mud than a narrow road tyre, so this model is sized to provide effective off-road coverage.
