Description
The RRP CX-Guard is the world’s first mudguard designed specifically for rigid cyclo-cross and gravel forks. Unlike mountain bike models, it is shaped to fit narrow forks and slimmer tyres (32 mm to 45 mm).
Its job is simple but crucial: to stop water and mud spraying onto your face and, above all, your headset bearings. In cyclo-cross racing, where visibility is key, the CX-Guard is a valuable ally for keeping your vision clear lap after lap, without adding wind resistance or unnecessary weight.
Will it restrict tyre clearance in very sticky mud? The CX-Guard is very slim and leaves as much clearance as possible. Its smooth profile helps mud shed rather than build up, a major advantage over the exposed wheel openings of carbon forks.
Can I fit it at the rear? This model is specifically designed for the front. For the rear of a gravel bike, we generally recommend the EnduroGuard in Standard size, which fits slim seatstays better.
Could it scratch my carbon fork? As with any accessory attached to a frame, we recommend applying a small piece of clear protective tape, such as ClearProtect, where the cable ties make contact.
