The bottom bracket shell is made of steel for robustness, as are the bearing balls. The cups, however, are made of plastic for those primarily seeking an economical product.
This model has a square taper hollow axle "JIS" (M8 bolt) available in lengths of 107, 110, 113, 115, 119, 122, 127 and 131 mm.
