The difference is that they wear out faster, especially with ceramic-treated wheels. But the progressive braking action is satisfying, and in an emergency, just press hard and you know you're in for a brutal ride. The only flaw, if you can consider it as such, is longevity, but for the price of my wheels, I prefer to change my pads regularly."
