"This wheel is replacing a Mavic Crossmax wheel after the rim was torn off... the selection of "vintage" 26-inch rim-brake wheels is limited. But the Crossride is a good product. I already had a Crossride front wheel that I was very happy with. Visually, it’s a beautiful wheel, slimmer than the Crossmax, and the self-adhesive decals really make it stand out. On the road, it’s perfect, and the freewheel is quiet, which is a nice bonus. I ride with 32mm Schwalbe Marathon tires, and the whole setup performs well."

"I bought this to replace a wheel that was about 15 years old on my commuter bike. It’s very sleek, and while it might be suitable for casual road riding, it’s not meant for a bike that needs to handle a slightly rough ride. First repair after 3 months: a spoke fell out of the wheel, causing significant wobble because there weren’t enough spokes left to balance it. And again, three months later, a pannier bag hit the spokes while riding up a curb at a speed barely faster than walking, causing a spoke to snap off at its attachment point on the hub—impossible to repair, so the hub had to be replaced...might as well just change the whole wheel. I had never seen a spoke fall out or a break of this kind before, let alone twice in less than a year."

"A well-made wheel, relatively light and sturdy, that will easily handle the demands of commuting and, above all, touring. I like that I can access the spokes on the cassette side without having to remove the cassette. This is useful on bike tours with heavy loads on terrain that’s hard on the spokes… I won’t need to carry cassette removal tools in my repair kit anymore."
